How to choose tractor attachments
Tractor attachments are used to supplement the tractor's needs depending on the work the tractor is to perform, put counterweights to balance the tractor if a heavy attachment is fitted, equip a lift arm kit if the attachment needs hydraulics or a cardan shaft to transmit power from the tractor engine to the attachment being used.
Cardan shaft
PTO shafts are used to transmit power from the tractor engine to an attachment being carried by the tractor such as mowers, rakes, mulchers, etc. The different parts of a cardan are the drive shafts that are responsible for linking the tractor to the attachment, the cardan crosses that transmit the engine power to the attachments and the guard that covers the rotating parts of the cardan for the safety of the operator.
Lift Arm Kits
Lift arm kits are attachments that are used to allow the connection of tractor attachments that require hydraulics. The parts of this attachment are divided into lift arms that are the main structure and are responsible for attaching to the tractor and attachment, the hydraulic cylinders that are responsible for generating the hydraulic force to perform the work and the valves and hoses responsible for controlling the flow of oil from the hydraulic system to the cylinders.
Counterweight
Tractor counterweights are used to improve stability or balance the weight when using an attachment. We can divide the counterweights into three types, the rear counterweights are used to balance the tractor when an attachment is used at the front like tractor blades, the front counterweights are used to improve the traction of the front wheels and balance the tractor when an attachment is used at the rear like tractor mowers, finally there are the ballast wheels which are additional weights on the wheels to improve traction and stability on difficult or slippery terrain.
