what is a chainsaw?

A chainsaw is a tool made up of saw teeth connected to a chain. This chain moves at high speed thanks to a motor that makes it rotate. The use of this is in the forestry field for cutting logs, branches, etc... Here in Intermaquinas we have many models of combustion which are:

Types of chainsaws

The chainsaws as we said before are divided by fuel mainly in 3 subcategories: gasoline, electric and battery.

Battery chainsaws

Battery chainsaws are powered by one or more lithium batteries that power an electric motor. These motors usually have a voltage between 18 and 36 volts. The advantages of a battery-powered chainsaw are, above all, that they do not need to be always plugged into the mains to be able to work, as is the case with electric chainsaws

The use of battery-powered chainsaws is limited to simpler tasks, so they are mainly used for pruning or trimming small trees. This is because the electric motor is not capable of delivering as much power as the gasoline engine to cut a tree.

Electric chainsaws

Electric chainsaws operate with an electric motor connected directly to a power cord and without any battery so it must always be plugged into a power source. These are normally used as an alternative to battery-powered chainsaws since they weigh much less as they do not have batteries.

The use of electric chainsaws is not different from battery chainsaws, i.e. they are ideal for pruning small trees such as olive trees.

They are typically used to cut large trees and all types of harder wood. High altitude pruning chainsaws

For work at great heights, both gasoline-powered chainsaws and those with an electric motor can be used. These high altitude chainsaws come with an extendable handle for ease of use.
