Types of chainsaws

The use of battery-powered chainsaws is limited to simpler tasks, so they are mainly used for pruning or trimming small trees. This is because the electric motor is not capable of delivering as much power as the gasoline engine to cut a tree.

Electric chainsaws

Electric chainsaws operate with an electric motor connected directly to a power cord and without any battery so it must always be plugged into a power source. These are normally used as an alternative to battery-powered chainsaws since they weigh much less as they do not have batteries.

The use of electric chainsaws is not different from battery chainsaws, i.e. they are ideal for pruning small trees such as olive trees.
